How to set up IPTV on your LG smart TV

A simple, step-by-step guide to getting IPTV running on any LG webOS TV using BeePlayer — from install to watching, in about five minutes.

LG's webOS TVs are excellent, but the built-in options for playing an IPTV playlist are limited and dated. BeePlayer turns any M3U or Xtream Codes playlist into a fast, modern experience with a proper TV guide, films and series. Here's how to set it up.

What you'll need

• An LG smart TV running webOS (2018 models / webOS 4.0 and newer work best, including all 4K and 8K LG sets).
• An IPTV playlist from your provider — either an M3U URL or an Xtream Codes login (a server URL, username and password).
• A few minutes and your TV connected to the internet.

Step 1 — Install BeePlayer on your TV

On your LG TV, open the LG Content Store, search for BeePlayer, and install it. Then open the app — you'll see a short activation code on screen.

Step 2 — Sign in to The Hive Dashboard

On your phone or computer, go to beeplayer.buzz and create a free account. This is where you'll manage your TVs and playlists. Every TV gets a 48-hour free trial, no card required.

Step 3 — Activate your TV

In the dashboard, enter the activation code shown on your TV and give the TV a name (like "Living room"). That links the TV to your account.

Step 4 — Add your playlist

Still in the dashboard, add your source. Choose M3U and paste your playlist URL, or choose Xtream Codes and enter your server URL, username and password. Your playlist credentials are encrypted, and they sync to every TV you activate.

Step 5 — Start watching

Within a few seconds your channels, guide, films and series appear on the TV. Add another TV any time for a one-off £1, and it shares the same playlists automatically.

• TV guide (EPG): if your provider supplies an XMLTV/EPG URL, add it for now-and-next and a full programme guide.
• Parental lock: adult categories sit behind a PIN.
